Kevin Sur & Andrew Joslyn celebrate the release of their new album, 'The Love Between' with this special Tacoma release party. Joining them will be the incredible Shelby Earl and Portland's Lenore.
Kevin Sur is a well traveled musician who currently resides in Seattle WA. After a long hiatus from releasing music with past bands Luckie Strike and Indian Valley Line, Kevin will be releasing a new record in November of 2017 which is a result of a collaboration with composer and friend Andrew Joslyn (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, David Bazan).
Andrew Joslyn and the Passenger String Quartet - Independent Composer/Film Scorer, Passenger String Quartet, Orchestrator, Live Studio Recording, Live Performance
The Passenger String Quartet is an avant-garde, experimental neo-classical group, formed by Northwest composer/violinist Andrew Joslyn. The group is in high demand as studio session musicians, tours & performs original compositions, as well as backs a wide variety of regional, and national touring groups from David Bazan, Father John Misty, Judy Collins, Suzanne Vega, to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Ivan and Alyosha, Kris Orlowski, Doug Martsche, and many more.
Shelby Earl - With music described as “gritty and soulful, raucous and beautiful,” Seattle singer-songwriter Shelby Earl was named by NPR/LA Times music critic Ann Powers as her "new favorite songwriter" (see below for full letter), and her solo debut album, Burn the Boats (produced by John Roderick of the Long Winters, out on Local 638 Records) was named the "#1 Outstanding 2011 Album You Might Have Missed" by Amazon.com. She has since garnered praise from the likes of Rolling Stone, Paste Magazine, NPR, KEXP, No Depression, American Songwriter and many more. Earl’s sophomore album Swift Arrows (produced by Damien Jurado), was released in late-2013 to further critical acclaim, and in the words of Benjamin Gibbard (Death Cab For Cutie/Postal Service) it “proves [Shelby] has the most heartbreakingly beautiful voice in Seattle.” Earl's 3rd full-length studio album will be out March 10, 2017.
Lenore. - The coming together of Rebecca Marie Miller & Joy Pearson as Portland, Oregon folk outfit, Lenore., is serendipitous, to say the least. After individually hitting rock bottom — Pearson following a divorce & Miller after a period of destitution in LA — the pair separately turned to songwriting in the search for a still point in their turning worlds.
