Matreyek, an artist based in Los Angeles, creates live, staged performances where she interacts with her animations as a shadow silhouette.
A combination of the handmade and tech, her work exists at the cross section of the cinematic and theatrical, fantastical and tangible, weaves surreal and poetic narratives of conflict between humanity and nature.
Miwa Matreyek will present two performances: This World Made Itself and Myth and Infrastructure.
This program can be enjoyed by adults and children.
Part of the Tacoma Film Festival, this performance will take place at Alma Mater's Fawcett Hall.
