June Art Exhibit: Max Lam's 'Frontyard of Heaven'

For June, Alma Mater’s Art Gallery is featuring the work of Max Lam, aka Pupp Tea. Her exhibit is called ‘Frontyard of Heaven’ and will be showing all month!

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a designer at REI, and I’m a part of the Californian scourge that’s descended upon the Pacific Northwest, if I’m not glued to my seat playing a video game from Friday to Monday, I’m out in the wilderness, seeking cold, tall, lonely places.

Where did your journey into painting and art begin?
Two years ago, I was a bad student and decided to ditch a couple of classes at UW to live in a van and roam Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. I was stuck in a hurricane atop the Blue Ridge Mountains and it was so beautiful, I sketched those rolling hills and never stopped.

Who or what is your muse?
John Muir.

Tell us a little bit about your process from initial inspiration to where you paint and what paints you use. The more details the better!
I jump around different mediums a lot. I either do mixed media with graphite and digital painting, water colors or acrylic.

How can people keep up with you?
